Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Healthcare and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 4.65% or 0.690 points to trade at 15.530 at the close. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) added 2.18% or 0.71 points to end at 33.28 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was up 1.38% or 0.350 points to 25.710 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 9.64% or 0.400 points to trade at 3.750 in late trade. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 3.04% or 1.670 points to end at 53.350 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) shed 2.25% or 0.990 points to 42.960.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 84 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.15 to $1324.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $47.38 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.20% or 0.10 to trade at $49.77 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.22% to 18.5924, while EUR/MXN rose 0.48% to 20.8215.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.80% at 95.44.
