Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 3.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which rose 8.55% or 0.519 points to trade at 6.589 at the close. Ferrovial (MC:FER) added 7.17% or 1.245 points to end at 18.615 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was up 5.40% or 0.501 points to 9.773 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gamesa (MC:GAM), which lost 0.33% or 0.060 points to trade at 18.000 in late trade. FCC (MC:FCC) added 0.21% or 0.016 points to end at 7.589 and Red Electrica Corp. (MC:REE) gained 0.91% or 0.710 points to 78.800.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 181 to 23 and 11 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.40% or 5.15 to $1289.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.68% or 1.30 to hit $49.86 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.70% or 1.33 to trade at $50.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1309, while EUR/GBP fell 1.94% to 0.7701.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.57% at 93.76.
