Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which rose 8.33% or 0.2000 points to trade at 2.6000 at the close. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) added 7.75% or 0.010 points to end at 0.139 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was up 7.34% or 0.008 points to 0.117 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Halcor (AT:XAKO), which lost 7.91% or 0.025 points to trade at 0.291 in late trade. Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr) declined 4.49% or 0.0400 points to end at 0.8500 and ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) shed 2.95% or 0.58 points to 19.11.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 47 to 38 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.38% or 18.30 to $1345.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.56% or 0.25 to hit $44.19 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.04% or 0.97 to trade at $46.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.77% to 1.1234, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.8360.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.81% at 94.96.
