Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Trading & Consumer Goods, Optoelectronic and Rubber sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Coadna (TW:4984), which rose 9.94% or 6.90 points to trade at 76.30 at the close. Biostar (TW:2399) added 9.89% or 0.82 points to end at 9.11 and Ritek (TW:2349) was up 9.73% or 0.320 points to 3.610 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aoc (TW:6289), which lost 7.58% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.220 in late trade. Mirle Auto (TW:2464) declined 4.14% or 1.75 points to end at 40.55 and Reward Wool In (TW:1423) shed 3.56% or 0.24 points to 6.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 424 to 316 and 112 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.09% or 0.04 to $43.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.22% or 0.10 to hit $45.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.06% or 0.75 to trade at $1326.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.14% to 32.095, while TWD/CNY rose 0.14% to 0.2081.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 97.03.
