Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Power, Manufacturing and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which rose 3.25% or 8.50 points to trade at 270.30 at the close. Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE) added 2.98% or 84.0 points to end at 2900.0 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) was up 2.27% or 0.425 points to 19.125 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG), which lost 8.84% or 63.5 points to trade at 654.5 in late trade. FSK EES (MCX:FEES) declined 7.38% or 0.0070 points to end at 0.0878 and Niznekamskneftekhim ao (MCX:NKNC) shed 3.54% or 1.900 points to 51.800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 114 to 104 and 21 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.18% to 36.790.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.83% or 10.20 to $1236.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.72% or 1.13 to hit $40.37 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.17% or 0.95 to trade at $42.89 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.41% to 66.4096, while EUR/RUB rose 0.81% to 75.071.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 94.53.
