Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Power and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were PIK (MCX:PIKK), which rose 3.83% or 31.60 points to trade at 856.10 at the close. OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:RUAL) added 3.80% or 1.61 points to end at 43.81 and Rostelekom PAO (MCX:RTKM) was up 3.12% or 2.81 points to 92.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK), which lost 2.88% or 31.00 points to trade at 1,047.00 in late trade. Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) declined 2.19% or 15.20 points to end at 678.00 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) shed 2.15% or 14.60 points to 665.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 157 to 89 and 6 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 4.11% to 25.22.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.49% or 35.10 to $2,319.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.73% or 0.57 to hit $77.93 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.09 to trade at $82.22 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.01% to 87.87, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 94.37.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 104.81.
