Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 3.79% or 0.0091 points to trade at 0.2490 at the close. NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) added 3.19% or 24.10 points to end at 779.00 and Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) was up 1.92% or 16.90 points to 898.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS), which lost 2.21% or 2.200 points to trade at 97.500 in late trade. Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) declined 2.11% or 30.00 points to end at 1395.00 and Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE) shed 2.00% or 70.0 points to 3430.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 113 to 102 and 21 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 1.11% to 23.580.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.10% or 1.25 to $1237.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.90% or 1.02 to hit $54.80 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.60% or 0.90 to trade at $57.08 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.45% to 57.7025, while EUR/RUB fell 0.90% to 60.870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 101.36.
