Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP), which rose 4.65% or 5.39 points to trade at 121.33 at the close. Magnit (MCX:MGNT) added 2.96% or 188.50 points to end at 6,557.50 and Surgutneftegaz PAO (MCX:SNGS) was up 2.51% or 0.74 points to 30.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which lost 2.42% or 1.52 points to trade at 61.20 in late trade. PIK (MCX:PIKK) declined 2.33% or 21.00 points to end at 878.90 and Globaltrans Investment Gdr (MCX:GLTRDR) shed 1.98% or 12.65 points to 625.45.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 135 to 105 and 13 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 3.44% to 23.56.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.10% or 2.30 to $2,341.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.26% or 1.84 to hit $83.38 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $86.66 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.02% to 86.74, while EUR/RUB fell 0.01% to 93.16.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 105.50.
