Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Power, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 3.59% or 5.45 points to trade at 157.45 at the close. Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) added 3.39% or 3.97 points to end at 120.97 and VTB (MCX:VTBR) was up 2.89% or 0.0016 points to 0.0563 in late trade.
Biggest losers included United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which lost 2.79% or 1.020 points to trade at 35.580 in late trade. PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) declined 2.05% or 51.0 points to end at 2440.0 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) shed 1.21% or 1.70 points to 138.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 129 to 57 and 21 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 6.86% to 23.070.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.27% or 3.60 to $1325.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.79% or 1.68 to hit $61.80 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.63% or 1.67 to trade at $65.28 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.18% to 56.6999, while EUR/RUB fell 0.85% to 69.8925.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 89.97.
