Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Power and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which rose 3.52% or 5800 points to trade at 170450 at the close. NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) added 2.76% or 14.5 points to end at 539.5 and PIK (MCX:PIKK) was up 2.75% or 8.50 points to 317.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which lost 2.36% or 0.680 points to trade at 28.090 in late trade. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) declined 1.77% or 2.55 points to end at 141.65 and Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) shed 0.99% or 21.00 points to 2107.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 122 to 94 and 20 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 2.71% to 26.230.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.04% or 0.50 to $1312.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.97% or 1.35 to hit $69.78 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.67% or 1.23 to trade at $74.85 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.67% to 62.6104, while EUR/RUB fell 1.03% to 74.7989.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 92.51.
