Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN), which rose 10.32% or 76.5 points to trade at 817.5 at the close. NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) added 2.68% or 3.90 points to end at 149.45 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) was up 2.29% or 9.40 points to 419.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON), which lost 4.18% or 25.00 points to trade at 573.40 in late trade. MVideo (MCX:MVID) declined 3.48% or 14.20 points to end at 393.80 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) shed 2.12% or 2.57 points to 118.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 114 to 103 and 13 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 6.91% to 21.270 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.41% or 5.40 to $1318.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.42% or 0.88 to hit $61.16 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.13% or 0.74 to trade at $64.75 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.54% to 56.9653, while EUR/RUB rose 0.58% to 70.1500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 90.01.
