Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Power, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY), which rose 4.12% or 10.80 points to trade at 273.10 at the close. Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA) added 3.28% or 4.60 points to end at 144.75 and ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) was up 3.19% or 41.0 points to 1326.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which lost 3.43% or 5.70 points to trade at 160.30 in late trade. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) declined 1.39% or 2.90 points to end at 206.40 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) shed 1.19% or 29.0 points to 2401.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 123 to 90 and 20 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.24% to 20.930.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.13% or 1.65 to $1293.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.69% or 1.30 to hit $47.11 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.75% or 0.92 to trade at $51.65 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.32% to 59.2519, while EUR/RUB rose 0.25% to 69.9370.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 93.17.
