Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.83% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Portugal Telecom (LISBON:PTC), which fell 0.58% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.5100 at the close. Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) fell 0.60% or 0.01 points to end at 0.82 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LISBON:CTT) was down 0.92% or 0.0920 points to 9.9230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (LISBON:SEM), which lost 2.93% or 0.4025 points to trade at 13.3375 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) declined 2.92% or 0.0026 points to end at 0.0865 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) shed 2.67% or 0.0002 points to 0.0073.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 56 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 0.48% or 0.32 to $65.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.23% or 0.14 to hit $59.86 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.19% or 2.30 to trade at $1207.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.0977, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.7096.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 96.48.
