Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.54% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 2.70% or 0.0160 points to trade at 0.6090 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.21% or 0.087 points to end at 7.299 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 0.63% or 0.0510 points to 8.1140 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 10.11% or 0.0027 points to trade at 0.0240 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 4.61% or 0.0070 points to end at 0.1450 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 3.06% or 0.3350 points to 10.6250.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 40 to 14 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.48% or 0.24 to $49.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.63% or 0.31 to hit $48.86 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 2.42% or 29.35 to trade at $1241.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.66% to 1.1338, while EUR/GBP rose 1.00% to 0.7809.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.54% at 94.09.
