Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.36% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 1.35% or 0.0230 points to trade at 1.7250 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 0.40% or 0.0010 points to end at 0.2480 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 0.29% or 0.0020 points to 0.7000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 7.46% or 0.645 points to trade at 8.000 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.67% or 0.0320 points to end at 1.1650 and EDP (LS:EDP) shed 2.03% or 0.0590 points to 2.8500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 32 to 8 and 14 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.98% or 0.92 to $45.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.72% or 0.77 to hit $43.89 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.08% or 1.05 to trade at $1302.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1115, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8890.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 97.11.
