Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA), which rose 2.14% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.6200 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) added 1.60% or 0.1060 points to end at 6.7120 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LISBON:CTT) was up 0.39% or 0.0370 points to 9.4170 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Portucel (LISBON:PTI), which lost 3.37% or 0.1285 points to trade at 3.6875 in late trade. Semapa (LISBON:SEM) declined 3.15% or 0.4275 points to end at 13.1425 and Portugal Telecom (LISBON:PTC) shed 3.13% or 0.0155 points to 0.4805.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 55 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 2.81% or 1.79 to $62.01 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.72% or 1.62 to hit $58.02 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.81% or 9.60 to trade at $1175.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1288, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.7340.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.25.
