Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which rose 7.04% or 0.0005 points to trade at 0.0076 at the close. Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) added 1.38% or 0.0090 points to end at 0.6590 and Portugal Telecom (LISBON:PTC) was up 1.32% or 0.0070 points to 0.5360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP (LISBON:EDP), which lost 4.43% or 0.1620 points to trade at 3.4930 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) declined 2.25% or 0.2975 points to end at 12.9525 and Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) shed 2.23% or 0.0865 points to 3.7955.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 40 to 29 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 2.48% or 1.63 to $67.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.24% or 1.33 to hit $60.58 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.85% or 10.00 to trade at $1193.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.77% to 1.1241, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.7163.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.69% at 94.46.
