Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 3.40% or 0.0230 points to trade at 0.6990 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 0.93% or 0.0640 points to end at 6.9340 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 0.03% or 0.0050 points to 14.6650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 2.15% or 0.180 points to trade at 8.206 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.68% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.1760 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 1.68% or 0.0003 points to 0.0176.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 37 to 9 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 0.37% or 0.19 to $50.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $48.26 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.71% or 9.65 to trade at $1347.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1318, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.8673.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 94.55.
