Portugal shares lower at close of trade; PSI 20 down 0.18%

Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.18%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 1.85% or 0.0310 points to trade at 1.7090 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 0.65% or 0.0001 points to end at 0.0154 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 0.58% or 0.0150 points to 2.6030 in late trade.

Biggest losers included The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which lost 1.95% or 0.0510 points to trade at 2.5600 in late trade. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 1.56% or 0.1800 points to end at 11.3850 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) shed 1.54% or 0.007 points to 0.447.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 21 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 0.58% or 0.29 to $50.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.65% or 0.31 to hit $48.14 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.46% or 6.05 to trade at $1319.95 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1229, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8649.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 95.42.
