Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.17% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which rose 2.19% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.420 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 1.31% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.3870 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 0.69% or 0.0330 points to 4.8230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 2.15% or 0.0160 points to trade at 0.7280 in late trade. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 1.97% or 0.0970 points to end at 4.8300 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 1.42% or 0.0590 points to 4.1010.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was up 1.12% or 0.57 to $51.49 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.53% or 0.73 to hit $48.45 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1202.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.0636, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8708.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 101.32.
