Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 1.18% or 0.1600 points to trade at 13.7200 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.04% or 0.1800 points to end at 17.4500 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 0.84% or 0.0210 points to 2.5100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 2.12% or 0.265 points to trade at 12.250 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.91% or 0.0048 points to end at 0.2462 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 1.11% or 0.0110 points to 0.9840.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 14 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.21% or 0.59 to $49.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.12% or 0.52 to hit $46.92 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.02 to trade at $1240.88 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1517, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8835.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 94.58.
