Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 2.71% or 0.1640 points to trade at 6.2190 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 2.20% or 0.0830 points to end at 3.8630 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 2.08% or 0.0040 points to 0.1960 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which lost 2.13% or 0.1240 points to trade at 5.7000 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 1.15% or 0.0090 points to end at 0.7710 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) shed 1.14% or 0.0630 points to 5.4660.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.48% or 0.26 to $54.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.27% or 0.14 to hit $51.18 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 2.93% or 34.15 to trade at $1129.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.28% to 1.0399, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8372.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.18% at 103.23.
