Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 3.27% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS), which rose 1.08% or 0.08 points to trade at 7.46 at the close. Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) added 0.68% or 0.06 points to end at 8.10 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 0.12% or 0.01 points to 4.29 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which lost 11.08% or 1.40 points to trade at 11.24 in late trade. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) declined 7.10% or 0.25 points to end at 3.32 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) shed 2.52% or 0.06 points to 2.48.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 0.19% or 0.14 to $75.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $72.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 2.64% or 72.60 to trade at $2,677.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.78% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP fell 0.66% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.62% at 105.00.
