Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 1.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Semapa (ELI:SEM), which rose 1.34% or 0.20 points to trade at 15.14 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) unchanged 1.31% or 0.00 points to end at 0.38 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) was unchanged 0.05% or 0.00 points to 3.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which lost 6.42% or 0.92 points to trade at 13.41 in late trade. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) declined 3.37% or 0.12 points to end at 3.56 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) shed 1.83% or 0.36 points to 19.26.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 9 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.14% or 0.12 to $84.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.19% or 0.15 to hit $80.87 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.78% or 18.85 to trade at $2,439.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 103.85.
