Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 1.06% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE), which rose 1.92% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.39 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 1.24% or 0.18 points to end at 14.73 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was up 0.60% or 0.02 points to 3.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which lost 4.76% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.36 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) declined 3.01% or 0.13 points to end at 4.20 and Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) shed 2.58% or 0.50 points to 18.71.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 2.62% or 2.08 to $77.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.95% or 2.25 to hit $74.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 1.00 to trade at $2,479.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.04% at 103.13.
