Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which rose 1.74% or 0.29 points to trade at 16.95 at the close. Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) added 0.74% or 0.01 points to end at 0.96 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) was up 0.56% or 0.04 points to 7.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which lost 4.12% or 0.78 points to trade at 18.04 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) declined 2.24% or 0.01 points to end at 0.41 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) shed 1.79% or 0.09 points to 4.83.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 9 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 4.41% or 3.42 to $74.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.81% or 2.80 to hit $70.75 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.36% or 9.15 to trade at $2,518.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 101.76.
