Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which unchanged 0.51% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.42 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) added 0.30% or 0.05 points to end at 17.00 and Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) was up 0.06% or 0.01 points to 8.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which lost 3.48% or 0.55 points to trade at 15.26 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) declined 1.88% or 0.09 points to end at 4.43 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) shed 1.49% or 0.22 points to 14.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.60% or 0.44 to $73.26 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.59% or 0.41 to hit $69.55 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.18% or 4.55 to trade at $2,596.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 100.59.
