Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.73% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which unchanged 0.57% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.39 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) added 0.41% or 0.07 points to end at 17.04 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) was up 0.28% or 0.02 points to 7.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which lost 4.12% or 0.73 points to trade at 16.97 in late trade. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) declined 1.42% or 0.06 points to end at 3.96 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) shed 1.37% or 0.03 points to 2.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 8 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 4.13% or 3.05 to $76.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.37% or 3.06 to hit $73.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.60 to trade at $2,670.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP rose 0.86% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 101.80.
