Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 3.26% or 0.12 points to trade at 3.68 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 1.85% or 0.26 points to end at 14.32 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was up 1.23% or 0.05 points to 3.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which lost 5.92% or 0.32 points to trade at 5.01 in late trade. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) declined 4.42% or 0.72 points to end at 15.58 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) shed 2.23% or 0.16 points to 7.02.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.58% or 1.30 to $81.07 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.49% or 1.17 to hit $77.11 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.32% or 31.10 to trade at $2,384.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 104.05.
