Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 3.47% or 0.14 points to trade at 4.33 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 1.46% or 0.21 points to end at 14.55 and Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) was up 1.20% or 0.10 points to 8.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which lost 3.62% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.38 in late trade. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) declined 2.92% or 0.11 points to end at 3.52 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) shed 1.74% or 0.26 points to 14.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 0.63% or 0.51 to $80.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.87% or 0.68 to hit $77.23 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.66% or 16.40 to trade at $2,489.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 104.12.
