Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 4.30% or 0.12 points to trade at 2.81 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) added 1.36% or 0.10 points to end at 7.46 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was up 1.21% or 0.10 points to 8.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which lost 3.60% or 0.38 points to trade at 10.18 in late trade. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) declined 2.63% or 0.09 points to end at 3.26 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) shed 1.67% or 0.04 points to 2.36.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 14 to 8 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.79% or 0.58 to $73.04 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.90% or 0.63 to hit $69.31 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 6.41 to trade at $2,674.31 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 106.17.
