Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.28% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which rose 2.06% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.33 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) added 1.01% or 0.19 points to end at 18.92 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) was up 0.66% or 0.01 points to 0.91 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which lost 3.43% or 0.13 points to trade at 3.55 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 2.69% or 0.37 points to end at 13.39 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) shed 0.64% or 0.02 points to 2.32.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 1.07% or 0.88 to $83.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.14% or 0.89 to hit $78.94 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.85% or 19.90 to trade at $2,329.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 105.08.
