Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.19% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which rose 0.89% or 0.17 points to trade at 18.76 at the close. Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) added 0.64% or 0.02 points to end at 2.35 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was unchanged 0.14% or 0.00 points to 0.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which lost 2.57% or 0.09 points to trade at 3.26 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) declined 1.44% or 0.06 points to end at 4.10 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) shed 1.36% or 0.22 points to 15.94.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 11 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 0.79% or 0.60 to $76.90 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.95% or 0.69 to hit $73.63 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.69% or 16.80 to trade at $2,427.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 102.81.
