Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 2.79% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 1.59% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.2560 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 0.411 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to 1.1320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 13.99% or 0.8410 points to trade at 5.1710 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 4.63% or 0.0071 points to end at 0.1462 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 4.62% or 0.0380 points to 0.7840.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 6 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 0.72% or 0.40 to $55.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.03% or 0.55 to hit $52.62 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.65% or 7.75 to trade at $1198.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.0705, while EUR/GBP rose 0.65% to 0.8575.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 100.32.
