Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 1.25% or 0.0037 points to trade at 0.2987 at the close. REN (LS:RENE) added 0.32% or 0.0080 points to end at 2.4820 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was down 0.06% or 0.0020 points to 3.4080 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 9.73% or 1.6600 points to trade at 15.4000 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 2.75% or 0.280 points to end at 9.920 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) shed 2.59% or 0.300 points to 11.300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 27 to 5 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 0.91% or 0.59 to $64.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.58% or 0.36 to hit $61.28 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.49% or 6.50 to trade at $1311.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.2207, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8885.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 90.64.
