Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which rose 0.35% or 0.0240 points to trade at 6.8100 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) added 0.32% or 0.0100 points to end at 3.1680 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 0.18% or 0.0300 points to 17.0800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 2.66% or 0.0220 points to trade at 0.8040 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 2.35% or 0.0080 points to end at 0.3320 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 2.33% or 0.0230 points to 0.9630.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 24 to 12 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 0.54% or 0.28 to $52.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.33% or 0.16 to hit $49.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.21% or 15.22 to trade at $1277.82 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1744, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.9036.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.50.
