Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 1.08% or 0.120 points to trade at 11.280 at the close. F.Rama (LS:RAMA) added 0.99% or 0.100 points to end at 10.200 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 0.73% or 0.0180 points to 2.4880 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (LS:SEM), which lost 2.00% or 0.4500 points to trade at 22.0500 in late trade. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 1.53% or 0.0155 points to end at 0.9985 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 1.15% or 0.0340 points to 2.9220.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.73% or 0.53 to $72.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $67.83 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.92% or 11.30 to trade at $1216.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1605, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8936.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 95.24.
