Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 3.30% or 0.0230 points to trade at 0.7200 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) added 2.30% or 0.1370 points to end at 6.0970 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 0.90% or 0.1250 points to 14.0000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 2.16% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.2260 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 1.96% or 0.173 points to end at 8.637 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) shed 1.46% or 0.006 points to 0.406.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 16 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.25% or 0.14 to $55.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.11% or 0.06 to hit $53.12 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.23% or 14.85 to trade at $1195.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.0728, while EUR/GBP fell 0.68% to 0.8512.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 100.14.
