Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA), which rose 7.30% or 0.0420 points to trade at 0.6170 at the close. Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) added 6.48% or 0.1615 points to end at 2.6535 and Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) was up 4.32% or 0.04 points to 0.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI), which lost 3.81% or 0.0440 points to trade at 1.1100 in late trade. Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) declined 1.52% or 0.0001 points to end at 0.0066 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) shed 0.18% or 0.0225 points to 12.3525.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 54 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.39% or 0.23 to $58.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $52.72 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.18% or 2.10 to trade at $1155.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.20% to 1.1024, while EUR/GBP fell 1.07% to 0.7112.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.92% at 96.84.
