Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 1.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 3.94% or 0.2390 points to trade at 6.2990 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 3.28% or 0.1010 points to end at 3.1820 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 2.95% or 0.235 points to 8.201 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 0.81% or 0.0020 points to trade at 0.2460 in late trade. Montepio (LS:MPIO) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 0.437 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) gained 0.09% or 0.0010 points to 1.1290.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 44 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.18% or 0.08 to $45.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.64% or 0.28 to hit $44.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.78% or 23.25 to trade at $1281.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.96% to 1.1033, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.8905.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.93% at 97.84.
