Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 15.38% or 0.0034 points to trade at 0.0255 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 15.25% or 0.0180 points to end at 0.1360 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 2.30% or 0.0650 points to 2.8920 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 2.37% or 0.175 points to trade at 7.215 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 1.51% or 0.0090 points to end at 0.5890 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 0.74% or 0.0600 points to 8.0450.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 33 to 15 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 1.13% or 0.57 to $51.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.78% or 0.39 to hit $50.08 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.19% or 2.40 to trade at $1245.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1345, while EUR/GBP fell 0.85% to 0.7796.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 93.94.
