Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 1.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS), which rose 4.48% or 0.1465 points to trade at 3.4135 at the close. Sonae (LISBON:YSO) added 3.36% or 0.0395 points to end at 1.2165 and Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) was up 3.34% or 0.0340 points to 1.0520 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA), which lost 1.30% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.5310 in late trade. Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 0.85 and Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) gained 0.25% or 0.0010 points to 0.3960.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 58 to 8 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.71% or 1.08 to $62.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 3.26% or 1.94 to hit $57.53 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.19% or 2.20 to trade at $1169.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.1081, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.7098.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 96.29.
