Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.42% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 6.88% or 0.0013 points to trade at 0.0202 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) added 2.71% or 0.0810 points to end at 3.0680 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 2.19% or 0.1550 points to 7.2390 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 1.65% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.1790 in late trade. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 1.15% or 0.0700 points to end at 5.9910 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.475.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 34 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 0.30% or 0.13 to $43.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.05% or 0.02 to hit $41.16 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.95% or 12.75 to trade at $1353.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.1159, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8431.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.07% at 95.66.
