Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which rose 4.65% or 0.2890 points to trade at 6.5080 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 3.32% or 0.4550 points to end at 14.1750 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 1.83% or 0.1220 points to 6.7810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 2.46% or 0.0420 points to trade at 1.6680 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.44% or 0.0008 points to end at 0.0320 and EDP (LS:EDP) shed 0.96% or 0.0280 points to 2.9020.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 21 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.27% or 0.13 to $48.68 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $48.49 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.24% or 2.95 to trade at $1251.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1213, while EUR/GBP rose 0.74% to 0.7725.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 95.40.
