Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.94%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 4.46% or 0.5200 points to trade at 12.1900 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 3.07% or 0.0500 points to end at 1.6780 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 1.79% or 0.0120 points to 0.6830 in late trade.
Biggest losers included The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which lost 0.80% or 0.0210 points to trade at 2.6110 in late trade. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 0.44% or 0.002 points to end at 0.454 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 0.42% or 0.0130 points to 3.1080.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 32 to 17 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 1.87% or 0.92 to $50.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.19% or 1.03 to hit $48.08 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $1323.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1244, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8654.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 95.27.
