Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 7.79% or 0.0240 points to trade at 0.3320 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 2.09% or 0.2750 points to end at 13.4150 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 1.78% or 0.0170 points to 0.9700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 0.99% or 0.125 points to trade at 12.535 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 0.69% or 0.100 points to end at 14.400 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) shed 0.29% or 0.0500 points to 17.3850.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 13 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.99% or 0.47 to $47.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.47% or 0.66 to hit $45.70 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.23 to trade at $1220.93 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1419, while EUR/GBP fell 0.80% to 0.8855.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 95.47.
