Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which rose 16.38% or 0.0655 points to trade at 0.4655 at the close. Semapa (LISBON:SEM) added 5.64% or 0.6850 points to end at 12.8200 and Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) was up 3.50% or 0.0700 points to 2.0700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI), which lost 7.55% or 0.0950 points to trade at 1.1640 in late trade. Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) declined 3.08% or 0.0002 points to end at 0.0063 and Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) shed 1.97% or 0.01 points to 0.74.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 42 to 25 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 2.62% or 1.69 to $62.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.12% or 1.29 to hit $59.53 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1201.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1339, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.7144.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 94.40.
