Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP), which rose 4.58% or 0.0037 points to trade at 0.0845 at the close. Portugal Telecom (LISBON:PTC) added 2.80% or 0.0165 points to end at 0.6065 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) was up 1.43% or 0.0001 points to 0.0071 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA), which lost 3.00% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.97 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) declined 1.77% or 0.0720 points to end at 3.9850 and Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) shed 1.75% or 0.0130 points to 0.7290.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 38 to 32 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.40% or 0.26 to $63.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.05% or 0.60 to hit $57.92 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.75% or 9.00 to trade at $1194.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.50% to 1.0754, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.7214.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 98.04.
