Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA), which rose 5.49% or 0.0280 points to trade at 0.5380 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) added 3.72% or 0.0028 points to end at 0.0780 and Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) was up 2.84% or 0.0110 points to 0.3980 in late trade.
Biggest losers included REN (LISBON:RENE), which lost 1.08% or 0.0275 points to trade at 2.5305 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) declined 0.98% or 0.0630 points to end at 6.3620 and Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) shed 0.35% or 0.0375 points to 10.5575.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 39 to 28 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 2.09% or 1.29 to $63.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.39% or 0.81 to hit $59.14 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.42% or 5.00 to trade at $1174.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.82% to 1.1144, while EUR/GBP fell 0.74% to 0.7088.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.63% at 95.67.
