Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 1.01% or 0.1350 points to trade at 13.4500 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 1.01% or 0.0250 points to end at 2.5010 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 0.92% or 0.0023 points to 0.2535 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA), which lost 0.94% or 0.030 points to trade at 3.170 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 0.80% or 0.0320 points to end at 3.9840 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 0.62% or 0.0020 points to 0.3230.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 17 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 2.84% or 1.38 to $49.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.11% or 1.44 to hit $47.78 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.26% or 3.26 to trade at $1251.04 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1657, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.8941.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 93.81.
